After presentations and discussion demonstrating the current situation regarding Orphan Work images in Canada, the US, the UK, Italy and Poland, MILE launched its online database of Orphan Work images at this conference, to an audience of international IP and metadata experts from the fields of Intellectual Property, image copyright and digital archiving. Chairman of The Bridgeman Art Library Harriet Bridgeman said,
"Among growing movement towards legislation regarding Orphan Works within the UK and the EC as a whole, we welcome this site as a test case for a centralised database of Orphan Work images..."
