Hotel Prestige Congress, Carrer de Jose Agusti Goytisolo, 9-11, 08908 Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona, Spain

The MILE Project held its first seminar on current metadata and Intellectual Property rights issues in Barcelona, Spain. Key speakers include leading figures from the US and eminent copyright experts from across Europe and the Middle East. The seminar welcomed attendants both from within MILE, and from external organizations including University Politcnica de Catalunya, Index Fototeca, The British Museum Company and Escola Tcnica Superior d'Arquitectura de Barcelona.

Industry experts gave a series of lively, inspiring presentations on the current state of image and metadata rights and reproduction, copyright exceptions and real case studies from the digital image industry. Specific focus was centred around the current highly politicized debate on Orphan Works.
