Metadata Classification Seminar 1, Thursday 23rd August 2007

Industry experts gathered in Vienna, Austria, for The MILE Project's second seminar on current metadata issues. Delegates from Italy, Germany, the UK and - via PowerPoint - the USA, presented on their professional experiences of metadata classification, both through using existing standards, and developing their own to fit their particular company needs, proposing potential solutions via either the latest technologies, or new standards. The seminar welcomed attendants both from within MILE, and from external organizations such as J Klammer, The SILVER Project, Erich Lessing Culture & Fine Arts Archives, and Akademie der Bildenden Knste Wien. MILE was also delighted to welcome MDA, as represented by Nick Poole and Gordon McKenna, as a new partner to the project.
